I was digging through my old vinyl and came across The Honey Drippers, Vol1.
I hadn't listened to it in years but man... It just jams.
The album was released in 84 and was Robert Plant's after Led Zep project.
The band that plays on the album consisted of:
Robert Plant – vocals Jimmy Page – guitars Jeff Beck – guitars Paul Shaffer – keyboard Nile Rodgers – guitar, co-producer Wayne Pedzwater – bass Dave Weckl – drums Brian Setzer – guitar (guest appearance) Keith "Bev" Smith – drums
That is a pretty serious lineup.
Anyway...

Unfortunately the Jardiance dance on every commercial break.
Allowing big pharma to hawk their drugs has gotten stupid.

"Si Bheag, Si Mhor" written by the late 17th--early 18th century blind Celtic harper, Turlough O'Carolan. The title translates to something like "small fairy hill, big fairy hill." O'Carolan is the reason the harp is a symbol for Ireland, as he is considered by many to be Ireland's national composer.

It was the first record I grabbed when looking to pick one out, a 12” single. So I decided to play it. It always cracks me up. Marianne Faithfull not only recorded the first Rolling Stones song in 1964 and dated Mick Jagger through the 1960’s, she was present for many of the biggest moments in music during the 1960’s. Crashed out bad in the 70’s and came back from it, a few times. Interesting person. Also she’s the granddaughter of Baron Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. Anyway,

We have an album of hers that I don't think we've played since we got married.

She came back with her voice a deal more leathery than before, which, as it turns out, I guess runs in the family.

Been listening to Anita O'Day most of the evening. One of the all-time great jazz singers, and too few people have ever heard of her.

My buddy Kevin Carl is working on another album with his friends from The Descendants, Black Flag and All. Should be out late this summer! Here's one from his last CD:

Played some Tower Of Power “Your still A Young Man” And “So Very Hard To Go”
Some young cats near me asked “ what are you listening to” I told them, “The Bay Area Band that had the best horn section ever, and the vocals aren’t to shabby.”
They said they are headed off to Spotify.
Fun to point a youngster to music that is timeless and wears well.

I guess I never really heard enough of this when it was released. I was too busy working and raising a family. It is a superb album. One of the best rock albums of all time I would argue. Not a bad track on it. The vocals are raw, edgy and bluesy.

Denim, Tom and Jerry's Rockets, Triumvirate, etc that most people haven't heard of.

Yes, Ron. Temple of the Dog. Had Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Mike McCready later of Pearl Jam. Then you have the killer vocals of Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden, Audioslave, etc. They were a supergroup before their true fame. A lot of talent here.
