NOT trying to be political. Just wondering who else has lost access to family over vaccination status, either way.
I haven't been allowed to visit a family member, due to differences on vaccine status. I'm not making a stand either way, just thought I would open a discussion for those of us who can visit family.
I know more than one person who got a fake vaccine card to avoid just this issue.

thanks for all the responses folks, and for keeping a discussion about what seems to be a touchy subject civil.

I have seen other high quality studies that indicate the opposite, but I don't think this is the place to discuss it.

My queridisima got vaccinated and is now on pregnancy number two. Here they gave pregnant women the sinovac vaccine. Queridisima doesn't translate clearly to English. I get everything from dear housekeeper to dearly departed. Sweetheart, fiance, wife?

I think any discussion of the efficacy and/or safety of the mRNA shots will go off the rails quite quickly, so let's save that for other venues. I realized I didn't comment on my experience. I haven't seen my mother in person since the 'vaccines' became available and highly recommended. I have had significantly adverse effects from medication (this one with a very long history & testing regime), and I'm now very cautious before taking anything. So I have not been vaccinated, and thus have been banished from personal contact. I do support every person's right to make medical decisions based on their own feelings about those decisions. Thanks again all for taking part in the discussion.
ps: I'm not anti-vax, and being prior service military have a huge array of vaccines...

I put the drops on the sugar cubes until I had a tray full and walked down the line where each person picked up and ate their dose. We are still talking about vaccines right?!? 🤣🤣 (kidding) Not arguing with a pregnant woman is a valuable life lesson that should be taught early. If the vaccine causes fertility issues, I should get jabbed daily! Well, not JUST vaccines, but we were discussing vaccines.

If you are a woman of child bearing years, you need to have your head examined if you take the shot. No link to where the data came from? No sourcing? No accountability? No way to review your claims? That's a bad faith argument right there.

Our closest family is a good 1,300 miles away in Tennessee, so my wife and I already have some difficulty visiting. That said, we have had no issues visiting due to vaccination status, as all but my Brothers family are fully up to date. I've gotten down that way a few times though, just took a few extra precautions as both of my parents are older and immunocompromised. We did cancel our annual trip to visit my wife's family in Hawaii the past two years due to difficulties with travel. We are planning on trying to go this year, so it will be good to see them again.
I know my brother's work and schedule required him to quarantine from his family early on, and it was hard on them. He usually works 21 days on and 10 off, so his time off in quarantine was mostly spent away from family. That was at the beginning of the pandemic though. He has come down with 3 of the variants, and has had to spend time quarantining due to that. The last time he had it, was when the family came up to visit us and go skiing. They all came down with Covid shortly after the got back home to Florida. It was within the infectious window, so my wife and I canceled some plans to visit friends and quarantined until we knew we were clear (we couldn't get an appointment for testing until after the quarantine period was over).Â
Overall though, we haven't been affected that much.Â

From past history, this topic has gotten heated quickly, and it looks like it has the potential to go that way very quickly, so for the sake of peace, I'm locking this. This is not to take away from the current situation that @darkeater is experiencing.
