David Crosby of CNS&Y and other groups has passed at age 81. All the people I've spent my life with are going to the other side. RIP David.

I am sorry to lose him but he had a good long run.
In 1970 or 1971, he nearly ran me over on a side street in Sausalito, California. He was driving a Mercedes Benz V8 sedan and ran a stop sign. He seemed highly agitated. There was no mistaking him then. I kind of liked that experience.
Saw him in concert the year before at Fillmore West in SF with them other guys of suspicious conduct.
He made great melodies and I sure loved their music. RIP, Mr. David. Say hello to "Bing" for me....

Sausalito is a place that back in the day, I thought if I am ever in the chips… pretty beautiful and quite exclusive.
I remember the big controversy about how quick he got a liver after burning out his first one. I cannot blame him if the situation is what it is, the blame has to go on those that make that call if indeed that was the case.
Nevertheless, CSN, CSNY, he contributed greatly to some fantastic music, the harmonies were spectacular.

David Crosby of CNS&Y and other groups has passed at age 81. All the people I've spent my life with are going to the other side. RIP David. One of my all time favorites of all my younger Boomer Era music artist experiences. Amazing how he discovered Joni Mitchell when she was still performing in coffee houses. He brought her back to Los Angeles and produced her first album. They were romantically involved for a while until she discovered that he cheated on her. She wrote a breakup song that she performed in a public setting with him in the venue. He was not upset with her breaking up like that because he knew that he had wronged her. Crosby admitted even in his senior years that he still loved Joni Mitchell. BTW, Joni Mitchell is going to be honored by the Library of Congress with their Gershwin Award for Popular Song on March 1st. PBS will be recording this presentation show and plan to air it on PBS on March 31st. I am happy to have experienced so many great Boomer Era performing artists with Peter Paul and Mary kicking it off for me in the Fall of 1965 being my first big name concert that I was able to attend. |

Technically in my post above David Crosby is not a Boomer from birth year. I just consider artists like him who attained success as a performing artist during the Boomer young adult age frame as Boomer Era artists. |
