A cat carrier might arouse less suspicious, maybe.
And Ryan Air is an Irish airline. Though my doggy's name is Ryan, he's in no way associated with aviation.

I save 100% by not boarding the plane.

I have not been on a plane since before the pandemic. And I don't plan on flying anywhere for the indefinite future. It would have to be an emergency to get me on a plane now. Once upon a time ago flying was an enjoyable experience. Now it just s***s.

Last time I was on a plane was over 12 years ago and I was forced to fly for work to Raleigh Durham and Phoenix. It was one day trips with no luggage. We've been talking about a trip to Scotland. My wife is pushing it for 2025. We'll see. Our planned trips are Missouri and back to Arizona. We can have a lot of fun and stay in the USA.

I hadn’t flown for a number of years but last March I flew to San Diego (from Michigan) and the entire experience of the flight both ways was just miserable. I used to enjoy flying in the 80’s and 90’s, but it would take a lot to get me on a plane now.

Once Zarnicky wanted to fly United but stewardess wouldn't letting me.
A young man and a duck sitting next to each other on passenger plane. Gorgeous young stewardess coming by and asking guy and duck if they would liking anything to drink. "I would like a cup of coffee, please," says the guy. "And I'd like a can of beer, you ugly pig!" shouts the duck. The stewardess goes and getting a can of beer for duck. But she is so shaken by the duck's rudeness that she forgetting coffee. When the stewardess coming back and giving beer to duck, the guy notices that she has forgetting coffee. "Excuse me," he say politely. "I ordered a cup of coffee, but you seem to have forgotten it." "Yea, you piece of #1*&!" yells the duck. "And bring me another beer, you stupid mule!" The stewardess walks away, thinking about how the duck is swearing now. Once again, she remembers the beer but forgetting coffee. When the stewardess coming back, the guy figures that if rudeness and swearing have gotten the duck what he wanting, maybe it will also getting him what he wanting. "Listen, you dumb b**ch", he say. "Twice I've ordered a coffee, and twice you've forgotting my coffee. Now bring me my coffee, you fat cow!" The stewardess loses her patience. She grabs the guy and the duck out of their seats. Then, with one powerful kick, she kicks open emergency exit and throws the guy and the duck out of plane. As they are falling, the duck says to the guy, "You know, you've got a lot of guts for someone who doesn't knowing how to fly."

Hard to imagine someone doing this, I would willingly sacrifice my life for my kids or my grandkids. I sure as hell would never leave a young child out of my sight.

I hope you do that! if not already considered, you might fly directly into Edenborough and skip England completely. Make Inverness, the old Highland capital, your base. go out from there on trips. Consider joining local tour groups. there are reasons not to drive yourself. the whisky trail being one of them. Local knowledge is helpful. Allow more time for the western islands. Skye can absorb all the time you have and that is but one island! Save time for the northern islands. Scappa Flow is worth seeing as are the Orkneys as a whole although they can be covered faster than the western islands. You can easily spend an entire summer there.

Kind of afraid to go to Scotland because they are arresting people who have politically incorrect thoughts.

Yorkshire is certainly worth the time. I would not over worry the arrests of those who heckle the Royal Family. The Tower of London for questioning and, likely, some "lengthening" and then the gibbet. Fie upon them! Seriously, Scottish independence is an issue. The current English Royals have some connection with Scotland but not much it seems to some. They need to crown their own monarch....

I would never heckle the Royal family, (well, maybe Andrew), but they have thought police and I have illegal thoughts. I might think "that person is funny looking, or that person really doesn't look Scottish. And off to Edinburgh prison I would go.
