Yeah, even though badly neglected, it had good bones.
I bet a million of such pipes get discarded by families when Ol’ uncle Fred passes on.
To the untrained, it looks like a nasty old pipe.

At least the previous owner didn't knock out the pipe against a rock or street curb. While kinda crudded up, the rim wasn't distorted.

That one cleaned up quit well. I've got a 317 en route that I hope to be able to do the same.

I've cleaned up a couple of Petes that any reasonable person would have trashed. They are extremely hard to kill and they can take a lot of abuse. It's pretty obvious that they tend to be used heavily.

The 317 Has arrived. It looks to be in decent shape overall, hopefully it just needs a good cleaning and some TLC. I took a few pics of how it looks now.   Nice pipe! I'm sure it'll clean up well. Looking forward to seeing the"after" pics. |

Thanks. I'll make sure to post some pictures after it is cleaned up. Looking at the hallmark on the silver band, it appears to be from 1981.

I just received a Peterson deluxe system 1s sandblast I think it is. I wanted one a little bigger than the other one I have.
