Yes, they are. So cool, in fact, that I just snagged another System off the 'bay a half hour ago.

Nice restoration! You really brought that one back from the brink. Thanks! It wasn't in bad shape to begin with, but am very pleased with how the rim cleaned up.

Yeah, even though badly neglected, it had good bones. I bet a million of such pipes get discarded by families when Ol’ uncle Fred passes on. To the untrained, it looks like a nasty old pipe.

At least the previous owner didn't knock out the pipe against a rock or street curb. While kinda crudded up, the rim wasn't distorted.

That one cleaned up quit well. I've got a 317 en route that I hope to be able to do the same.

I've cleaned up a couple of Petes that any reasonable person would have trashed. They are extremely hard to kill and they can take a lot of abuse. It's pretty obvious that they tend to be used heavily.

It looks like it sat more than it got smoked.

The 317 Has arrived. It looks to be in decent shape overall, hopefully it just needs a good cleaning and some TLC. I took a few pics of how it looks now. Nice pipe! I'm sure it'll clean up well. Looking forward to seeing the"after" pics.

Thanks. I'll make sure to post some pictures after it is cleaned up. Looking at the hallmark on the silver band, it appears to be from 1981.

I just received a Peterson deluxe system 1s sandblast I think it is. I wanted one a little bigger than the other one I have.
