I couldn't decide if I wanted to post this, or where. Daily Chronicle seemed right but I didn't want to hijack the thread.
So I am posting here because I need to tell someone...
My Mom lost her battle with Interstitial Lung Disease (Not Smoking related) Sunday morning around 345am.. She was my best friend, though I know she's back with dad, Grandma and Grandpa, she will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear this Terry. I lost my mother in 2019. We knew it was coming but losing a parent hits hard. My thoughts are with you. My condolences.

Sorry for your loss. I think I speak for most of us , that if a memory you would like to share comes across your mind, we would love to read about it.

Sorry for your loss. I think I speak for most of us , that if a memory you would like to share comes across your mind, we would love to read about it. Honestly, my favorite memory was when I joined the Navy. It's both a mom and a dad memory. It started after Id turned 18. Dad and I fought like hell because I thought I was a man... He went to sea, I had been with a Marine corps recruiter for 6 months. While he was away I discovered the high school still considered me a JR due to lack of credits. One evening I was mulling my life choices and mom says "penny for your thoughts" I decided to come clean, I told her I wanted to drop out of high school, get my GED, and join the service. I almost fell of the couch when she replied that she thought it was a good idea. So, we called my marine recruiter, who was an Adonis type. I told him I planned to get my GED at the local community college and join up. He refused me. Out of anger, I said to him "Fine!! Then Im joining the navy!!" I hung up and called the local navy recruiter who was salivating over me. Mom met him at the door that night and told him "My husband has been in the navy for more than 20 years don't you lie to my son!" By the time dad got home, I was enlisted in the delayed entry program for the navy. At dinner on his first night home, without any prior planning, mom looks at me and says in a stern voice "Young man don't you have something to tell your father?" Fortunately, I got it because Dad's disgusted reply was "What the F#$% did you do now!?" I gave a sheepish look and said "Well Dad... I joined the navy..." After he picked his jaw up off the table he smiled and said it's about time you got smart... Literally my favorite memory of both my parents I miss them both

Loosing your mother is always tough and I am sorry for your loss, Terry.
No matter how old one is we cannot help feel like an orphan when it happens.
You can still talk with her. I find it helps on occassion.

So sorry for the loss, Terry.. it seems especially hurtful that she suffered from something that is attributed to poor choices when that is not the case.
Just the way it is I suppose…😕
I lost my mom at 17, it still hurts at 62.

My condolences, Terry; just saw this. It does seem you had mighty good parents. That's a great thing, but it does hurt when they are gone.
