Just thought I would mention The Beast will be available 3/21. I’m passing on it for myself.
Also, for anyone interested in acquiring more of this year’s release of Folklore, 4Noggins has it on discount for $55/lb.

I was surprised to see that by tripling their unit production to 3k for Folklore it's lasted as long as it has. In general, I'm glad to see all the limited releases seem to be doubling and tripling production based on all the myriad demand complaints. I never got the original release from the 777 tins of The Beast, and I'm about to go buy a fat stack of them exactly this second.
EDIT: And I only bought 7 tins. The price went up, again. $15.73 per tin.  I recently noticed much to my chagrin that Missouri Meerschaum cobs are now double the prices they were a few years ago. Way more than double what they were a decade ago. I digress. certain cobs anyway. I remember Freehands being $28 not all that long ago, now $40. The Mark Twain cob was $8.99 about six years ago and I just noticed them now at $15.20! I bought three of them in 2020 for $10.99 a piece! |

I did a fairly major restock of blends I like to have around and bought a number of ones new to me in 2019. Recently, it’s been time to again restock a few of those. A 40% price increase since then seems common. The really concerning part is groceries have gone up more than that in the same timeframe which tells me that tobacco is going to go up considerably more in the near future. I still feel that “bang for buck” it’s a really cheap source of happiness to me. It’s definitely on the list of things that aren’t going to get a cheaper than it is now. |

Yes of course, and if there are further cascading bank failures well, hopefully that doesn't happen...
I just peeked at my 2016 invoice for the first small batch release of C&D Carolina Red Flake. $9.56 per tin.
To your point, tobacco is still relatively cheap for how much one can stockpile for a few hundred bones. However, I'm cellaring deeply, more concerned with massive sin tax hikes or outright bans in the hopefully distant future. It's a very real thing to cellar to avoid doubling of prices every few years if you're going to smoke it anyway. Of course, we've also seen so many blends discontinued.

I bought it for $15.73 at SmokingPipes, I primarily only buy from them, especially with their own releases. Then if I want to scoop up more, I hit up elsewhere.

The Beast appears not to be in stock at Cup o' Joes, Pipes & Cigars, SmokingPipes, or TobaccoPipes. 4noggins has it, but they have a third-party age-verification system that I can't get to work. Guess I'll check with my local shop and see if they have any in; they have a pretty deep selection of C&D blends.
On the bright side, I have refills of Bayou Morning and Mountain Camp on order now plus a couple of ounces of Super Balkan, an old blend but new to me, which caught my eye while I was browsing.
