I was just over at the P & C site, and there's a new Captain Black right on the front page ...I never even tried the Grape, and here comes Platinum. I like the Royal best of all the C.B. offerings I've had. but I have some Dark and Copper on hand too. I'll wait till I see it around town before I think of trying it...I'm just passing along a heads-up.

I like the Capt. Black Copper of all the ones I have tried.

I like Grape, Dark, and Royal. If anyone other than P&C gets Platinum in I'll give it a go.

Monday is Pipe Night at a local tobacco shop, smoking lounge. The local Rep. for General Cigar, Jayson came by with his sample of Captain Black Platinum. So we all packed a bowl and gave it a try. I have to say that I do like a ribbon cut as it is easy to pack in a bowl and burns well. Not a favorite of mine, but not bad at all.

Thanks for taking one for the team. Yours is the first smokers opinion I've read, and it didn't scare me off. Nice avatar too, and welcome B.T.W.

Sounds like another nice burley blend...Lord knows, I've got plenty of those open.

I chose to use Fred For my avatar because he was a nice guy, smoked his bought in the 30s and 40s Dunhill pipes packed with Father Dempsey tobacco. Never considered himself a star.
I did like the Platinum, it is just not my favorite.
