Hey Gents, Any of y'all have advice for blowing smoke rings with a pipe? For instance are there certain blends or pipe shapes that lend themselves to the practice? Do you have to take a big draw to get enough smoke? Is it better to try rings near the beginning of the bowl or toward the middle or end? Things like that. I've blown smoke rings before, but it was indoors and with a thick cigar. So far in my experience with the pipe there's not quite the same volume or texture of smoke, especially since learning and using the breath method. My children are quite certain that I should be able to rock some rings like old Bilbo Baggins himself, so I don't want to let them down I'd love to hear about your experience with smoke rings and any tips and tricks you might have. Thanks!

I don't think it really matter which blend you have. I'd maybe give it a little help with some extra heat to generate more smoke, but after that, suck it in and ring it out.
Watch out for tongue-bite though.

When I want a denser burst of smoke from my pipes, I apply flame to a bowl that’s already burning nice. It can mess up the flavor for the next few puffs though.

In my experience, blends with some cavendish in them tend to produce more and thicker smoke.

Then again, I'm not terribly proficient at it indoors either.

That's terrific! Didn't know there were different techniques - will have to give it a go. Thanks!
