It seems nobody answered or discussed this, but Bob Runowski made “American English” blends, and referred to an American English as an English mixture using burleys. Morley’s Best is an American English blend. An aromatic English mixture is often called so or called a crossover or English aromatic. The most straightforward true English mixture is just Virginia and Latakia. Then, the most straightforward American English mixture would be burley and Latakia. To the topic of the thread, one of my favorite English aromatics was Frog Morton Cellar. I don’t smoke too many of them but I suppose my favorite one is Gawith Hoggarth’s Bob’s Chocolate Flake. My sister in law gave me two tins Bob's chocolate flake for Christmas last year so I do have that one to look forward to. It's a good one.

Lady Margaret recommended C&D Cross Eyed Cricket in a different thread. Unfortunately it's still on my wish list so I don't have an opinion on it yet but the description/reviews seem to be in this ballpark.

I've only smoked a couple bowls of it, but Boswell's English Biscuit is pretty tasty. Latakia, Virginias, and a bit of cavendish. I'm not sure what the toppings are. Vanilla is one of them, I'd say.
