Probably Palmetto Balkan, for the moment. Similar but defunct, McClelland Frog Morton's Cellar. The Palmetto Balkan has less casing and higher quality tobaccos. Sorry McClelland.

What is your favorite English Aromatic? Zarnicky really liking Hunting Creek from The Country Squire. This one of Zarnicky's favourite tobaccos. Here is review I putting in Zarnicky data base: A truly exotic cocktail of tobacco; full flavored, yet mild. This “hybrid" has characteristics of English and aromatic pipe blends. Semi-sweet flavors are accented by a dash of Latakia to make each bowl its own adventure. This complex blend is extremely pleasing. Hunting Creek has an intoxicating room note. The brown sugary black cavendish is the lead component. The nutty, earthy, woody burley is a supporting player. The grassy, citrusy Virginia is a secondary player. The smoky, woody, earthy sweet Cyprian Latakia is a condiment that plays a slight bit above its station. The vanilla topping seems to be the most prominent. The toppings sublimate the tobaccos quite a lot, though they do allow them to mildly peek through. That’s especially true for the Latakia. The strength is in the center of mild to medium, while the taste barely reaches the medium mark. The nic-hit is a slot below the strength threshold. Won’t bite or get harsh, and has no dull moments or rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent sweet, lightly creamy, mildly rich flavor with a hint of savoriness that translates to the lightly lingering after taste. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Let me know how you liking. The tobacco I mean. |

i liked what little of HGL I smoked. I have tin of fred the frog didn't know it was a crossover, I’ve never seen it promoted as such, it’s rarely discussed at all, but it’s a primarily VA/Latakia, so I’ve always thought of it that way. Without the topping, I would think it would somewhat fall into a medium English category. |

Is there a distinction between an "English Aromatic" and an "American English"? I mean, I guess one might not refer to a blend made by an English company as an "American English", but in terms of the blend, they mean the same thing, right? An English with flavoring added?
