It’s my stepson’s birthday today, he’s 28. This means I’ll be out and about most of the day so I’m squeezing in a bowl of GH Dark Flake Unscented in a meerschaum billiard.

I'm trying out some OTC blends in hopes that maybe I have cheap tastes and will be just as happy smoking codger blends as I would be with the more premium blends. I picked up packs of H&H, SWR,and CH and will be smoking them in the same MM cob for consistency. Started out today with H&H and it has a heavy spiced dried fruit smell like a cross between a fruitcake and fig newton. The flavor is pretty consistent with the pouch and gets more subdued/tolerable on the back half. Very thick smoke that's easy to light and keep lit. Oh well, fairly cheap experiment and maybe I'll find SWR and CH more agreeable. Been busy with the ongoing kitchen remodel so haven't been posting much. Since my last entry, I tried both SWR and CH. CH is the coolest smoke of the three and I expect I'll get a tub to keep on hand for when I want something simple but slightly sweet. SWR was in between the two in flavor but it burned hotter and was harsher in my opinion.

Cringle Flake in a French made bent Billiard. The one I suspect was formerly owned by George Simenon, author and pipe smoker . Often mistaken by local gendarmes for a Paris Inspector of Police.

We all started somewhere before moving on to other more “sophisticated “ blends. Enjoy the journey bro and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Good Evening! It's a cool 74° with a clear sky out here on the deck. We just started watching the Yankees game that's partly recorded and wanted to step outside for a pipe. Currently smoking a bowl of fresh Peterson Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 and there's a glass of cold water on the side. Have a great night, everybody!

Good Morning! It's 50° here with a partly cloudy sky. This afternoon I really am going to the supermarket. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the 1950 Dunhill Lovat and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table.

Good morning and happy Friday. Getting a head start to my day as today’s temperature expected to top out at 84 F (29 C). SG Sqn Leader and C & D’s Black Frigate to keep me company while at the club today. How do you like her swing?

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Friday cob. Warm and overcast, but no rain yet. You guessed it, I'm doing yardwork.

Good Evening! It's 79°, cloudy, and very humid out here on the deck right now. I think that I'll be able to finish this pipe before the rain starts. Just up from a nap after a tough time food shopping. I went to a supermarket close by and there weren't any electric ride-on carts so I drove across town to another supermarket that always has a few available. Between walking back and forth to the car and hauling the groceries into the house, I was worn out. Currently smoking a bowl of Limerick VA Flake in the MM General cobwarden and there's a glass of cold water on the deck table. Have a great night, everybody!
