Took a walk with the family, enjoyed some Lane 1Q in the Lumberman on the way. Got rained on, but it was great. Come on bro…you live in the PNW like me. It ALWAYS rains! Just have to get use to liquid sunshine.

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Monday cob and coffee on the back porch. Still kind of cool, but enjoying the morning sun. More outdoor work to be done today.

Still licking my wounds from yesterday’s gout attack. Getting ready for a bowl of Bengal Slices, a large cup of joe while sticking my foot in a bucket of cold water to ease the inflammation. Sucks getting old.

Good Afternoon! It's 70° with a partly sunny sky out here on the deck. I'm on hold with the Veterans Hospital in Cleveland and so my phone is wedged between my ear and shoulder. The postponements for my hip replacement surgery resulted in the expiration of the authorization from the Veterans Administration and I've been going around in circles trying to get it reissued since last week. Ahhhhhh!! Finishing up a bowl of aged Wessex Brown VA Flake in the MM Mark Twain cob with a Vermont Freehand Forever Stem and there's a bottle of cold water on the side. Pretty soon I'm going to give up on this call and read my book. It's too nice of a day to spend it on hold.

A pipe is a great thing to have in hand to take the edge off of such occurrences. I’m smoking SG Brown Sugar Flake in my BC calabash right now.

Ted, I am guessing that the two dimples on the gourd are from it's pre-harvested stage. I like it, kind of like what you find in leather..."imperfections" that add character to the finished product.

Snowy sunrise morning with SPC Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged in the London billiard. What the heck - this stuff doesn't taste like plums at all No it doesn’t but a wonderful blend regardless. 😂😂 If you like SPC, strongly recommend trying Mississippi River (bourbon). Think you’ll find this is more agreeable.

Yes, I suppose to the major manufacturers of the era it was made, it would have been a second but I like it. It reminds me that it’s just a natural plant part rather than some perfectly shaped and finished item that could have been made out of many different materials (looking at them from the outside of course).

Good Morning! It's 53° here with some occasional rain but clearing later on. Today I'll spend more time trying to call the Veterans Hospital in Cleveland and get my hip replacement surgery authorization updated. Sheesh! In the meantime, the smoking day has begun with a bowl of fresh HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Two Star Special and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table.
