Just an FYI for those who may be interested, a new Missouri Meerschaum/Sutliff limited edition blend called Timeless releases tomorrow, 5/9 at 1PM EST at TP, not sure of other sellers. It is apparently flavored with coffee, bourbon and vanilla.  |

I don't have a single thing in my cellar that's coffee or mocha flavored. As much as I like coffee, you'd think I'd be rolling in coffee blends.

Understand what you’re saying Herb but if I were an Aro smoker (and I still do at times), it does sound interesting. Having said that think I’ll wait for someone else to purchase and review first. Where’s Monty when you need him? This sounds like something right up his alley. |

Well Ted, I know lots of folks like Autumn Evening, but I'm not one of them; I did buy a tin, back in the day, and after a few bowls I tossed it into a home-blend of some sort and moved on. I will say I should try it again, because we grow as pipe smokers , taste buds change, and flavors unfold. For years I thought I disliked Middleton's Cherry Blend...I was gifted a box of it weeks ago, and I found that I've grown old enough to value it for what it is, and not complicate it by looking for flavors that just aren't there. As for my rum/maple mix, it's Sutliff's Buttered Rum, a pouch of Dutch Master's Maple Cavendish, and somebody's white burley, all given the gift of time in a jar, and now a relaxing, and smokable mix from three lackluster mixes. This morning's Savinelli Hercules is full of Cherry Blend, with some Prince Albert mixed in to try and make it last, coffee and cream on the side. Sorry to take the post off topic... |

I ordered a tin from Cup of Joe’s and also a tin of Cobblestone Cafe Vanilla Latte to compare. Both are blended by Sutliff, and I suspect are the same blend.

Never apologize for going off topic. I sincerely enjoyed reading your reply. As for your comment about taste buds changing, I totally agree. For logistical reasons (because I couldn’t pack everything) and having not touched any pipe tobacco for a year, I quickly realized this is my second chance at rediscovering blends I once thought as mediocre, boring or lacklustre. Isn’t this one reason why we smoke pipe tobacco? The enjoyment of finding or rediscovering that blend that gives us the “aha” moment, peace and tranquility? There you go and since we’re both totally off topic Herb, time for another bowl. Cheers buddy….🤗👍 |
