I missed the last Sutliff, that triple Virginia flake tin. Hoping I can snag that one and a couple extra of the last of the Birds of a Feather series when they hit P&C. Not sure I’ll go for this one, though. I think their Sutliff VA Perique mixture which also has black cav like this one here, is pretty good. Thinking this one will about the same, but a pretty tin art change and mofe money.

I think I've wearied of the limited editions. There are no ingredients or processes involved in this blend that are limited. They just didn't make much of it. Poof! Scarcity!
I guess it gets some people some blends to smoke that they wouldn't otherwise get (because presumably the companies don't think these would sell well enough to make them part of the regular lines), but it seems like mostly it just creates a market for flippers. The people who buy from flippers are still mostly to blame for that, but flippers do suck, nonetheless.

They’re limited because they were aged in barrels Most of the “limited releases”, not just from Sutliff but all makers do sometimes remind me of Beanie Babies in the 90’s. Not that there’s anything wrong with Beanie Babies. That being said, there have been many of them that I really enjoy. The barrel aged no 3 is truly excellent, Savinelli 140th is firmly in my top ten all time favorites. All of the Birds of a Feather series are exceptional, of course those do contain some specialty tobaccos.

While I shy away from most aromatics, this one sounds like it straddles the line between aro/non-aro, which makes it tempting for me.

I just find myself more and more disinclined to bite when there's no particular reason for the blend to be limited. Something like Sav 140 makes sense as a limited edition, since it's commemorating a specific year.

Oh well, I guess I couldn't resist. Added a few tins of this to my order for Stokkebye Twilight to get the free shipping.

Been watching “Have Gun Will Travel”, so I bought some Paladin Black Cherry instead.
