Would be interested in Sun Bear if they ever did a batch with mesquite honey.

I did end up ordering just a few of the Tupelo honey Sunbear. After I completed my order, only then did I notice the Rustica. Oh well, I still have a mostly full jarred tin and a few other tins cellared from the first year. Wish I’d thrown on a couple of the new Erik Stokkebye 1989 flake, but really only because it’s my birthyear and otherwise it’s a similar vein bright citrusy VA flake ala OGS or Heinrich’s. Not even sure if that one is limited. I do have to say I’m tiring of, and I get the feeling the market is really tiring of, the new limited releases every couple of months. I note that the last Sutliff rustica cake tin selling for $16+ and only 7,500 supposed tins, is still in stock many weeks later.
I did end up passing on the Sunbear Black Locust and Mountainflower ones the past couple years and do wish I’d gotten a couple of those now for comparison. I’ll look for them at NASPC next month if I can find them, and if a fair price.

Saw this on C&D’s Facebook page, from the Warped line:
“ We’re honored to have worked with Kyle Gellis and the rest of the Warped team to craft another exclusively different pipe tobacco: Midsommar will be available Wednesday, August 2nd only at Smokingpipes. A surprisingly bold blend of 2019 Canadian Brights, 2014 White Burley, 2018 Izmir, and 2019 Basma Orientals, this singular summertime blend captures the season’s more rustic character with a rich, heady flavor and aroma that’s well-suited to enjoyment outdoors and in the company of friends.

What are the properties of smoking rustica? I know it has been quite popular in nasal snuff for its high nicotine content, but is it enjoyable to smoke?

Straight Rustica / Mapacho is pretty rough and not very flavorful. However, the amount of Rustica in the MacBaren blend is small in comparison to the other components and balanced fairly well.
