Has anyone here been to Saint Cloud France? Did you buy a pipe on this visit?

I've never been to France. It's one place I would like to visit for a weekend perhaps.

Saint-Claude France…. I know what you meant though.
I have never been there, even if it wasn’t the birthplace of the briar pipe, it looks like a beautiful place to visit.

I use google to check my spelling often. So not knowing the name well, I found Saint Cloud which is a high end suburb of Paris, and not the town that I was looking for. If I had just looked at some of the pipes on a pipe rack about 4 feet from my computer to get the spelling right, or looked at Wiki I would not have made this mistake.
Saint-Claude France known for both pipe making and cheese production. Located on the Bienne River in Eastern France. Only 5 miles from the Swiss Border Saint Claude was a route for fleeing Jews in WW2. Many of the towns people helped these Jews (Food & Shelter) guiding them at night on hikes through the mountains to Switzerland. The Nazis executed all the towns males of service age in the town center. This is why so many women became pipe makers during and in post WW2 to support there families.
