All meetings at Madurostix in Mesa, Az.
Pipe Club Meeting, Saturday August 12th at 12:00 PM...Meeting dedicated to Doc Holliday's birthday (Aug 14th)... Or, I'm your Hucklecherry meeting.
Pipe night Meeting Wednesday August 23rd, at 5 PM
Greetings fellow pipe club members!
Only a few of our members can remember the days when Doc Holliday was practicing his form of medicine down in Tombstone, but the rest can remember when Richard Boone dispensed his form of justice as Paladin, regularly travelling to the southwest in Arizona and New Mexico.
What the heck does this have to do with a pipe club meeting, you might ask?
Rumor has it that Paladin lit his pipe with his chosen tobacco before riding out.
I secured a tin of Paladin Black Cherry Tobacco made by The American Tobacco Company in Richmond Virginia that closed it's doors in the 1980's, so there is no telling of when this was tinned...certainly before the closing.
The age might have smoothed it out to where you can smoke it if you are Don Knotts character in the shakiest gun in the west...or you might have to "John Wayne" it as it smokes like leaf from Hades and it tests your mettle.
Only one way to find out, come and join us as we crack the tin and see where we fall in, and who we would ride with.
If we bomb out on this one, there are plenty of aged, fine tobaccos for your smoking pleasure that would comfort your palate-in! If it is agreeable, bags will be provided for all to take some home.

In other matters, it looks like the hotel accommodations at the Palace Station might have been exhausted for the Las Vegas International Pipe Show, but there are some suggested alternative options available at the website, do not let the absence of rooms at the station, stop you from attending the show.
Have a good weekend, Hope to see you next Saturday!
