Summer almost over and Zarnicky not happy. I enjoying smoking pipe outside when weather nice. I not enjoy smoking outside in cold Montreal winter and I not smoke indoors. I just trying Dan Tobacco - Devil's Holiday. Not so great maybe better after aging. Zarnicky looking young because in winter I using cold cream. Very hot summer weather proving that Mother Nature is menopausal.

You could always come down to Mexico. It's only going to get hotter before it gets better.

Yep, the days are getting noticeably shorter. That's the only sign that summer is waning, here, though.

Still hot and very dry. Leaves dropping from trees but the roasting continues.

With the heat we've had this year I will say good riddance to summer!!

Here in Kansasland we have 3 weeks till the fall equinox, & maybe 2-2½ weeks of not-quite-summer, but still-not-fall, either. Fall won't really come until maybe the end of October, early November, lasting about a week or ten days before a week of windy weather blows all the leaves off the trees. First frost could happen by Oct. 15, but usually doesn't until early to mid November. Basically then, I have about eight or nine weeks of pipe smoking time on my front porch ahead of me.

Reminds me of the joke my Texas friends used to tell about the definition of “Fall” in Texas: it’s that day in November when all the leaves turn brown and fall off.

Still plenty warm here. Trees starting to show some leaf color. Nights are cool enough for TWO blankets since I keep a window open in the bedroom. Fall can be a glorious time here for tree color. We are at the southern end of the Rocky Mountains.

Very warm in SE Michigan. 90 today and tomorrow, then tapering off to the low/mid 70s for the weekend. Upper 60s-low 70s next week. Some years it's like flipping a switch. Processing tomatoes is another sign that summer is ending. Just got done with a batch.

Our summer has come back for a few days. It's been wet all July and August, and averaging around 15-17 celcius. Today it's in the low 20s. Awesome.

No shortage of heat here in south Texas. We got a little rain a couple weeks ago but it was too short lived. Just enough to reinvigorat the mosquitoes and make it humid on top of the heat.
