Smaller shows coming up, Flint Mi., Billings Ohio, Albany NY

All too far for me, but that last one looks like it's right up johnlawitzke and Silver's alley.

It should be.  I am the President of the International Association of Pipe Smokers Clubs and help to run the event.  This event is primarily about the 75th annual IAPSC World Championship contest (bring your own pipe and we give you 3.3 grams of cube cut Burley).  This is a relatively small event with usually about 40 smokers.  For the Show part, there will probably be 2 to 4 vendors.  

We are very excited that we have found some good indoor space for this year's event and don’t have to be in a member's pole barn or tents or plastic sheeting wrapped pavilion.  Michigan's smoke free workplace law makes this very difficult as any indoor or outdoor space where two or more paid employees are present must be non-smoking.  Some out of the box thinking found us a very reasonably priced banquet room with kitchen facility at a cannabis smoking club.  The way the law works here, in addition to the cannabis license, they also have to have a smoking permit which is a general smoking permit. 😎

So, if you’re in the area, come by and enjoy the fellowship of fellow pipe smokers.

I had thought that cannabis smoking clubs had a cannabis only license. Luckily, the upper 20s daughter of an Arrowhead Pipe Club knows the owner of the club and thought to investigate further.

Back in the good old days before I was involved, one of our contests involved 150 pipe smokers and was held in the basement of the Flint public library. C.S. Mott, one of the founders of GM, was a staunch supporter and our chief judge and timekeeper back then.

Utterly ridiculous, isn’t it?
