Good Late Morning! It's 69° with a partly cloudy sky and bright sunshine here in the neighborhood. Finishing up my time in the workshop with a bowl of fresh HH Pure VA Flake and there's some coffee left in the mug.

Happy Sunday, all! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee on the front porch. Got busy prepping meat for the Weber. Pork ribs, beef ribs and a couple beef shanks for the family feast. It's all in the smoker now, so I have a chance to sit. I'm smoking Riverboat Gambler in the acorn cob.

Last night I cracked that new tin of Barbary Coast and smoked a bowl in the Comoy’s prince Ted forced me to buy. I wasn’t a fan. It was just a very odd and variable flavor. I got occasional hits of something perfumey, which has me wondering if the previous owner of this pipe smoked Lakelands in it. I didn’t detect any soapy or perfumey smell when I inspected it on delivery, though.

I bet it’s quite young and hasn’t hit 12 months of age yet… Although perfumey shouldn’t be tobacco age, that’s usually a gift from the pipe's previous owner. 🙁 Sometimes you can smokes it away and occasionally you can’t. I have an early 1940s Barling which I bought from a very good pipe restorer and after 50 bowls of full English blends, I still got occasional tastes of perfume.😕 I’ve retired that pipe and it’s proof that sometimes a pipe is beyond saving. I really hope you can smoke yours out.

Trying some C&D Virginia Flake in a cob Legend. Man oh man, what a smoke! I ordered some pipe cleaners from an online shop that I like, but had to make the shipping fees worth it, so I added a couple of new tins to try. I bought this and a tin of C&D Steamboat. Haven’t smoked that yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Great afternoon and evening with the family. Dinner was really good. I'll make sure to thank the cook! Several after-dinner smokes of the usual in the usual. Everyone's gone home now. I'm sitting on the back deck with some tunes and a beverage. Paradoxical in a self-made, rusticated "55". Lovely, cool evening.

Good Morning! It's 57° here with a clear sky right now. This afternoon I have a routine eye exam at the veterans clinic in Canton and I'll make yesterday's supermarket run on the way home. Getting the smoking day going with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the 1950 Dunhill smooth Lovat and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

Some more Frieborg and Treyer Vintage in a Yorktown Canadian, poolside in Vegas.
Had dinner at a Japanese steakhouse that I had not tried previously…. The teriyaki filet mignon and Lobster were pretty darn good.
Nice when someone else pays the freight… it enhances the experience.😂
