I know Ive been gone a while but here is an update:
His liver is more than 50% tumor right now and the doctors have stopped treatment. He has a few weeks or so left. I wish I could fix this but its not in anyone’s hands anymore, i just hope he goes without pain.

There's a saying I can't use here or I would've used it before, but it starts with an "F" and ends with "cancer". Best wishes to you and him.

I leave for Japan in 5 weeks and my fear is that he will pass when I am halfway around the world. I am trying to see him before I leave. I did see him a few weeks ago for a wonderful lunch and daytime visit hosted by his Uncle in New York who I have know for 20 plus years.

In your thread I'm reminded so much of our brother, Darktater, of the loss to his family, this forum, and my own personal loss of his friendship. I know the emptiness you must feel in being powerless to change his outcome, but think instead of the value your friendship holds for him and his family, and the peace that brings to him
If I can help you in any way, I'm only a P.M. away.

If you can make the trip with him to the cabin, may I suggest the great outdoors video with John Candy?
A respite from the troubles he is facing.

Just an update, all treatments have been stopped, nothing left to do. He is on a daily diet of oxys and morphine and in a lot of pain. I got a text from him on Saturday saying “meet me at the cabin on Friday”. He is flying up, not sure how but he is. I will be meeting him Friday after work and spending what will likely be out last weekend at the cabin together. I am very grateful to have this opportunity. I think it would be a good time to talk about all the stuff we are always too busy to talk about

A member of our pipe club had to leave early from our last meeting, his father sustained a head injury that caused him to lose his life. 3 recipients were blessed from the donations of his organs. The fine tribute by his son left me misty eyed…
Lost my supervisor yesterday from way back when… best boss I ever had and he set the bar on excellence in management, a compassionate man with a heart of gold.
We are losing some great people, Scott, am so happy that your daughter has rebounded after such a serious brush… prayers for you as you minister to such a dear friend…. Life is so fragile.

While we are asking for prayers, my neice Barbara in Louisiana was just moved to hospice, though I think she thinks it's a nursing home. She's 70, diabetes and no legs. She has a good attitude and faith. Y'all prayed for her about 3 years ago and she recover. This time everything inside is eaten up. Doctors can't help. Please pray for her to have peace and little pain. Thanks.
