What is ? Ron, because your a closet Captain Black Grape fan. We all know it. So why hide behind a drunk frog? My large tub of CBG is still sealed. I will probably never open it. And I still don't know what F 1 R 3 is.

What is ? I always thought it meant the post above you should be shot down. I just saw it. I use the classic theme and it doesn't show up as an emoji, but as letters and numbers.

i forgot the why too... As for VAs and English, these are the two that pop into view when I close my eyes and think VA and English. I don't have them on hand because I have more tobacco than I'll ever live to smoke...still, they remain on my bucket list. Aromatic, TK-6 is the best cherry I have found, with Sutliff's black Cherry close behind. Back in the day, my wife made me smoke T.B. Cherry every Christmas morning, and I hated it..., last year I found these two and I really like them, before that St George 's blend from Sutliff was tops by it's long gone. Burley...Edgeworth...if I had enough, I'd send a bowl to everybody , and just let it speak for itself. Remind me, Herb, have you tried Cult Blood Red Moon? That's a cherry aromatic I hear a lot of people swear by. I liked BRM when I first tried it, but it got old real quick. I use it under a non aro as a cherry "filter".

Which is your favorite pipe tobacco and why? Thanks. My usual is Victorian, a P&C knock-off of Petersen's Elizabethan Mixture. I like it for it's aroma both in the humidor, and when lit. The balance between the grassy VA and the sweet, pickled flavor of the Perique is quite enjoyable. My other favorite is Escudo Navy De Luxe

Penzance is wonderful. But so darn hard to find. I sometimes get it from a reseller at ebay. Costs more though. I think Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding is the poor man's Penzance. It is really good, at 90% of the way to Penzance.

When you can't get Penzance at any online pipe tobacco site, and go to ebay, you find that for the right price, you can get it. The right price is often 3 or 4 times the tobacco site price, but it is there. Supply and demand.

I'm just saying SPC is on the very spendy end of the "standard" brands out there, in my experience. They're proud of their blends. You can't get Plum Pudding for, say, OGS prices or Mac Baren prices.

Lankford was a gifted blender, but the majority of the offerings have Latakia in them, I just don’t smoke that varietal much. There was a lot of buzz at the LVIPS about the Mississip’ Va. I received a sample, have not tried it yet.

Lankford was a gifted blender, but the majority of the offerings have Latakia in them, I just don’t smoke that varietal much. I am not much of a Latakia fan. I was really avoiding it for years, sticking with my VaPers and occasional aromatics. But when subtly introduced in the mix, I am starting to like the effect. Like oregano in my scrambled eggs, it just kind of cheers everything up a little.

The only two SPC blends which I cellar are both Latakia free: Deception Pass and Hogshead.

Germain’s Rich Dark Flake has been my favorite tobacco for a long time. It just checks all the boxes for me; grassy, with a slightly sweet caramel taste, creamy texture, right amount of nic. However, I can’t seem to find it anymore.
Lately though, I have been rediscovering Latakia. Star of the East has been in my pipe almost every day lately. I can’t seem to get enough of it.
