Outside in the chill and dark with some Inns of Court in the birth year Dunnie apple: Yeah, I really like that one. Two birth-year Dunnies for you? Yup. This one was 100% Ted's doing. He found it and thought of me. I stumbled on the other one. I love them equally. This one's an apple, which I like a lot, with a saddle bit, which I like a lot. The other's a prince, my favorite shape.

Amphora Virginia in a Castello apple: Another winner! Not sure I've seen that one. I've posted it a couple of times, but you may not have seen them. The ring grain and the unblasted shank were what sold me. I'm normally not a huge fan of partial blasts, but sometimes they just work.

And, very unusually, a third pipe this evening. It's Boswell's Sweet Tea in another Ted pipe, a Comoy's Grand Slam:

Still up, obviously. Haunted Bookshop in a Dagner Poker cob. Because HB needs to be smoked in corn. YMMV.

Good Saturday Morning! It's 49° here with a cloudy sky and the milder weather will be with us for a while. This afternoon Janet and I have to make the rounds to the pharmacy, mail a package, and then shop for her new sneakers. The day jars of aged Dunhill Flake and Scottish Flake were down to the last pieces and shreds, so I mixed them together and that's what I'm smoking in the Peterson Rosslare 106 smooth billiard with a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a great weekend, everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 47° and still cloudy here. I'm feeling better, so this sinus infection won't be dragging on. Finishing up a bowl of Bayou Morning Flake in the Pete smooth billiard and there's a swallow of coffee left in the mug. Time to pack my stuff and head back to the house for some more sleep.

Edgeworth in my Barling poker this morning, with just a tiny hint of MacBaren Symphony to bring this bowl into perfect harmony with the creamy hazelnut coffee in my mug. In spite of my wife's illness, it's fruitcake making day once again. The fridge is full of butter, and the counters are littered with bags of flour and sugar, and loaf-pans. Soon the kitchen will be filled with the pitter-patter of not so little feet, and the laughter of sisters who have spent a lifetime making good things happen when all hands are on deck. I tried to beg out of it this year, but each year makes the time together more valuable, and the old gals just wouldn't hear of it.
As ole Ed would say, Dealing with it, Herb.

Grousemoor & Rich Dark Flake parfait... Grousemoor bottom. Lit RDF filters through the unlit aromatics then Grousemoor takes center stage for 2nd half of the show. All very well aged, and very smooth, sweet n tasty.
