About ready to try S&G's Balkan Flake. I think I have a tin with a broken seal...it's partially collapsed in the middle and I can smell the aroma when I hold it to my nose.
I must say, the packing job was poorly implemented...yeah I'm looking at you Pipes and Cigars.
This really smells great. Regarding a different store, there are some other S&G blends at Payless Cigars & Pipes. I think I saw Best Brown Flake.

I'm of the opinion that too wet tobacco is far more common than too dry. Too dry is difficult to achieve with pipe tobacco. I think Greg Pease said something along those lines. But that's me. You might know from experience you don't enjoy it if the tobacco is drier than normal.

How's it smoking? Have you lit up a bowl? It's really good. Deeply smokey with some dark notes of fermented hay. This is a very nice blend and my Stanwell model 32 likes it as well.

Good Morning! It's a mild 58° here with a cloudy sky so the workshop heater is off and one of the doors is wide open. This afternoon I have to stop at the pharmacy and then make a supermarket run. Getting the smoking day going with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the smooth bent Don Carlos Two Note and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one, everybody!

Smoking a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the Don Carlos while watching another streaming episode of The Doctor Blake Mysteries on BritBox. This pipe is performing nicely and is giving me a cool, flavorful smoke as the combination of the briar and tobacco come together wonderfully.

Good Morning Again! It's 56° and still cloudy here. Having one last bowl while watching one more episode of Dr. Blake's murder mysteries. Currently smoking a bowl of fresh Peterson Flake in the Don Carlos and there's some coffee left in the mug.

Happy Tuesday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Tuesday cob and coffee. 51 and cloudy here. Making a stir-fry with chicken later on. Until then, playing it by ear.

I think I like it better than Old Gowrie. Although, lotta similarities. Blasphemy, I sez! Reading descriptions and reviews of the two got me to go with Old Gowrie, at first. The impression I got was that Brown Clunee was a similar, but lighter blend than Gowrie. I finally decided to try Clunee when some bulk was available, and I was impressed.

Headed out for some LBF in a Radice something-or-other. They say it's a belge: This guy smoked for nearly 2 hours. It has a fairly capacious chamber, but still, 2 hours? I seem to be doing something uncommonly right when packing bowls lately.
