Neat looking pipe Ma'am, looks to be an old Linkman by the stamp on the stem. The M. Linkman and Co. was established by Louis B. Linkman and August Fisher in 1898. The company closed down in the 1950s and the Dr Grabow branch was sold to Henry Leonard and Thomas Inc.

Yeah Again, I just don't really know the prices on estates of this sort nowadays so all I can tell ya is what I'd be willing to pay. Maybe $10-$12, if they were higher grade pipes I'd maybe able to help a bit more but.........

Hey, guys! A friend tipped me off about this pipe and I had to come take a look. I actually collect these ugly, little monsters (if five of them can be called a collection). They're definitely not everyone's cup o' tea, but I think they're cool and they smoke very well indeed. Despite the information in the pipephil listing ( www.pipephil.eu/logos/en/logo-o1.html ), Old Rarity pipes were not made by Linkman. They are French-made and I believe they date later than Linkman. The stem logos of the two brands are similar, but not exact. They don't show up that often, but then, nobody's really looking for them either (other than me, that is). So, Ron's right about the value of it; $10-$18 in good condition. Good deals if you ask me. @lady Margaret -- That one looks solid from what I can see in the photos. Give me a shout if you plan to pick it up and maybe we can organize a trade or something.

now that you mention it I remember seeing "made in France" in tiny letters on the shank along the edge of the stem.

I have no idea who actually made them though. When it comes to French pipes, I usually just accept that I'll never know.
