I've been a pipe smoker for a couple of years now, though I miss out on time smoking during the cold Indiana winters. I'm around a fair amount of pipe smokers, but most of them aren't very experienced. So I'm here to ask the occasional question and peruse through the threads when time allows. I look forward to interacting with you all on here.

--from Chicago, so I know all about those cold winters. At this point most of my pipe smoking is in the car; I will probably find my winter smoking going down as well when I retire in a couple of years. As others have said, there's a lot of collective knowledge and experience here, and we're happy to share whatever we know. And you're fortunate to have other pipe smokers where you are. You may find yourself becoming the local sage of pipe lore.
