Often, a new pipe smoker is looking for advice on buying a pipe, and what he should look for. And quite often getting the most pipe for the money is a factor. EBay, the local tobacconist, and even new pipes bought from retail online stores can be a roll of the dice. I cannot recall if I ever recommended Reborn Pipes store as an option, it is certainly one well worth considering pointing someone to. Sometimes a heavily smoked pipe is that way because it was a great smoker. Steve does a great job cleaning and restoring pipes, returning them to their former glory with little risk (if any) to a purchaser. As he does his magic, he is well aware of the engineering of each pipe and knows what a novice pipe smoker does not. His prices are very fair, and it is a ministry for him… he uses the funds to donate to causes that fight human trafficking. rebornpipes.com/rebornpipes-store/Just one example: “ This Todd Johnson and Pete Prevost Made Icarus Sandblast Apple with an amber acrylic stem is a beauty.” While the shape might not be everyone’s taste, the price of $125.00 shipped looks like one heck of a bargain! I purchased a pipe from Mr. Laug a month or two ago and was very happy with the pipe I received older Peterson xl307 rusticated. We exchanged a few emails and he is currently working on 3 pipes for me that I sent him. Mr. Laug has a lot of information and help on his blog about pipe restoration and repair. He is also mentioned in The Peterson Pipe book written by Mark Irwin and Gary Malmberg. Our pipe smoking community is really not that large but expands around the globe with many fine folks with some amazing talent.
