Read it all, my Dad was cashiered out the Navy, he was a top welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron, sent to New Mexico, never talked about what he did. Later I pieced it, he still never said anything. We must of led a charmed life, he moved us 2 weeks before the Big Texas City Explosion, as a 5 yr old boy we went back and saw the aftermath, very terrifying.

My college physics professor worked on the Manhattan project as a graduate student. He always finished his classes with stories about the gang of physicists on the project. Very entertaining bunch. I have listened to all of Finemans lectures and my recurve bow is designed by Oppenheimer and a couple of others and built in Los Alamos. Spent many days there and explored the area. My friend lived in one of the duplexes they built for the workers.

I have been meaning to read Feynman’s Lectures on Physics for years. I have the first volume. He was quite the character too.

Very few know it but my Dad, Albert BF Duncan (1903-1974) was the 4th ranked scientist on the Manhattan project, behind Oppenheimer, Harold Urey (Univ Chicago), unknown Russian, locked up in Columbia Univ, NYC. Never to New Mexico. After the was over, de-briefed at Bellview pysch ward. Letters to & from Mom were opened & read. Dad never said much if anything about it all. Came out later that Prof Urey offed himself, Dad finally understood that IF Truman had NOT ordered it done...we well have had to speak Japanese.
The fact that his only child was born with a bit of brain damage had nothing to do with it all (about a 12second lack of oxygen)
Math & science were my main downfalls all the way thru schooling. Had tutors)

That is pretty cool, ED! You are still a pretty brilliant, regardless of any early setbacks.
