I do have a bag of Super Value Black and Gold I bought a couple years ago when I was trying out blends that I smoked from my younger days that were still available. I have only smoked a couple of bowls of it since. It was still pretty much the same as it was in the early 1980’s. I don’t think it’s necessarily bad, it’s on par with many other mass produced packaged aromatics in many ways in my view, but that is a genre I lost interest in a long time ago and one I only pursued because they were cheap and easy to find. I didn’t know what tobacco could be back then. I’ve never tried any of the other flavors then or recently.

Finally feeling better, somewhat. I decided to treat myself and drop some coinage on tobacco from pipes and cigars.com. Let's see, I got some Captain black original, some super value English mixture...some pipe cleaners and 2 tins each of blackhouse and whiteknight.

Okay, I received the remains of that bag this morning, and I wasted little time before I gave it a shot. Like Ted, I long ago burned my way through these vanilla blends that strive to be like Captain Black ,or seem to. The one favorite of those days ,that I came away with is C.B. Royal, and I always have some on hand. That said, I can't think of anything bad to say about S.V. Black and Gold, It's a nice ribbon cut that packs well, and stays lit with less care than the Blender's Gold, or Dream Castle of this type. and it wont run your friends or their wives away. If you find yourself in a vape shop, with only a few scraps of change from under your car seat, trust me, you could do a lot worse. |
