Elijah Craig Small Batch. That's what I've been drinking lately. It's so dark and caramely ... good stuff. Yup. Several of us agree it's a righteous bargain.

Well, I was gonna kick back and watch some baseball, but my Dodgers are playing the Braves which means I can't watch. So, I guess I'll drink, instead. Having some Bardstown.

Dos Equis Amber…$12.00 for a 12 pack.
Fond memories of this one while eating at El Zarape in Mountain View circa 1980’s…
Paired well with dinner, prefer the draft of yesteryear though.

Nothing in the glass right now (for some reason tippling at work is frowned on here), but my most recent brew was Midwest Coast Peremoha Ukrainian Golden Ale, a seasonal collaboration between Midwest Coast Brewing here in Chicago and Varvar Brew in Kyiv. Midwest Coast describes it as "somewhat of a hybrid between a Belgian Golden Strong Ale and an English Strong Ale, but is truly unique to Ukraine" ... with coriander added. I usually go more for IPAs, but this is really quite nice, and I'm going to try to pick up some more before it goes out of stock. Proceeds are donated to Liberty Ukraine, which helps buy protective equipment, medical supplies, and rehabilitation therapy for the front line. (Peremoha (Перемога) means "victory" in Ukrainian.)

It's a good idea to have a stockpile of something that you like, but unlike tobacco, that type of beer usually doesn't keep more than 2 or 3 months. Now Bud Light doesn't have anything to go bad.

Last evening it was Plymouth Gin. The 82 proof. So flavorful it does not need bitters. I sometimes add King Floyd cardoman but mostly leave it be. Maybe an olive. Plymouth style Gin is less dry and more herbal than London Gin. I enjoy both. Usually neat until it gets warmer, then ice cube.
