One of my favorite restaurants in Ireland was owned by a Spaniard. On the tiny bar he had a small wooden keg of port. Oh my! Squeezings from heaven!

Well, it's a fortified wine aged in the solera method. It has a rich flavor. I don't know what else to say. It's sweet, but not Mogen David sweet. I like it but I like the better Spanish sherries better. It's served as an aperitif and as a dessert wine.

A glass of Kopke 20 year old tawny port. Apparently that is the oldest Port house. I guess that theoretically there could be a few molecules from 1638 in a current barrel, but I wouldn't bet on it.

My favorite of the Iberian fortified wines is Madeira, particularly "Rainwater".

Always in real glass, morning meds, apple juice, night meds & usual IPA in real glass with handle, not a true "stein". Thruout the day, large plastic glass & mainly water or CokeOriginal

My favorite sherry was a Spanish that came in a chrome bottle I bought in the 70s I went through a couple of bottles that were about 12 bucks. I didn't drink any for about 3 years and the price went up to 30 bucks circa 1981. Too expensive so I started drinking cheaper ones. I got one, a Kopke that was specially bottled for Specs liquor stores 50th anniversary. It was so good that I drove all over the Houston area and bought every bottle they had left. The current bottle is one I got before we moved and just now opened. It's past it's prime by a good margin. The cork was still tight, but it crumbled upon removal. I filtered it into a decanter, but I will probably only drink 1 or 2 more glasses and dump the rest. Maybe I will visit a liquor store when we go to Texarkana Friday.

Never heard of it. Looked it up It's too rich for my blood. Probably good though. I'm not going to pay more than 30 bucks for a port or sherry. They don't keep like bourbon or scotch. And it's a Chinese owned Australian brand. I like the idea of my money going to Portugal and Spain. Of course, these days they could belong to anyone.

Drinking a "half & half". For you that do not know that is a beer & tomato juice. Probably a Southern thing.

Ew. Never heard of it in my part of the South. Me either. Sounds like a Michelada to me. Minus the lime juice and spices. Originated in Mexico.

Red Beer is the often referred to as the State Beverage of Kansas.
I substitute low sodium V-8 Juice. It was my hang over cure back in the day. It is also good on its own.
