Half a meatball sub, raviolis, French fries with chili sauce, chicken wings for later. The chihuahua ate a whole meatball and one ravioli. We are both stuffed with a big lunch and need a nap.

Lunch was a large bowl of my own vegetable and leek soup. A locally made tamale on the side. Nothing fancy. I have a small Haggis from Jolly Posh. I might steam it tomorrow night. It is not wrapped in the traditional sheep bladder but a sausage tube. I will try not miss the bladder... Lamb bits, oatmeal, onions and spices so it ought to be good.

Any connection to the ironwood cafe in Texarkana Ron or more laid back country cafe. Same owner, smaller version of the same menu.

Ron, glad you got a place back in town. Let's hope they make it. It's an experienced, successful owner being pushed by a multi-millionaire. There was one parking space that my wife's Scion barely fit in. It ran better in the training period than the old one ever did, but I admit, it's not mama's country cooking like it used to be. Still, it's better than nothing. The food is kind of city version of country cooking, instead of the real thing, if that makes sense. In other words, it's good, but no one is driving 150 miles to eat there like the old place. My son had a hamburger and voted it as a 6. My whitefish was in a CFS batter instead of beer batter. A 6 too. Fried green tomatoes got a 9, as did the wife's hamburger steak with mushroom gravy. I suspect it will get better, and if it doesn't, it's still good.

Started out this morning with two poached eggs, back bacon, and hash brown potatoes. I started the day with 2 poached duck eggs over a half tin of corned beef hash. Coffee on the side.

Fantastic breakfast at the Radisson hotel in Yuma this AM...hotel of the year in the chain, the biscuits and gravy was pretty awesome...susage links were crisp on the outside, juicy center...breakfast beverages refreshing and the coffee was a great kick start. Arby's in Maricopa NY Bagel Sammich for dinner. In Yuma yesterday, the property of the patient was literally an oasis in the desert, the Ficus trees were amazing and I commented on how impressive they were. The husband asked if I liked citrus, and I said yes! He picked navel oranges from his trees, Tangerines, and Lemons and filled a box. The oranges and tangerines are delicious, but so juicy that they are impossible to eat over a sink, and you would lose a lot of juice. Off to the juicer… the best OJ/Tangelo juice ever.. breakfast should be good! (Lousypic of the sliced orange, amazing in real time…

Nothing is as good as an orange direct from the tree. We had one in Houston that gave over bushel of navel oranges most years, and they were the best I ever had.

Had a nice burger in town today. Hand formed patty made with local beef, two kind of cheese, guacamole and chile mayo with the usual vegetables. Sweet potato fries. This will be my last burger for a long time, I reckon.

Tonight's dinner is going to be braised and baked boneless pork ribs with sauerkraut and veggies. Ice cream for dessert while watching TV.

“ Did you get a inspection when you bought the house?”
Yes we did…but the problems that we encountered were not found out until the window of opportunity closed, and no crazy expense’s incurred.
It all worked out…. More gravy on the biscuits at this point… we like Brio Grill.

Good looking tangerines and maybe a tangello but the lemons should be extra good. Yeah, actually I think they were tangelos. A big batch of lemonade tomorrow, trying to limit the sugar for the wife, not sure if it is possible.

A Cornish Pastry from Jolly Posh. The most perfect pie crust ever in my experience with beef chunks, a smidge of gravy and onions. I do not know who made that crust but I want to marry that person and do not care what gender! After all, "nobody's perfect". (See "Some Like it Hot")
