Leaving you with no excuse to sit down in the middle of your chores and smoke a pipe. Yeah but just think of all the spilled gas stink and dirty oily hands we battery mower guys out on. ππ Right? Don't have to keep gas cans filled. Don't have to change filters. Don't have to winterize anything.
Keep your batteries charged. Sharpen the blades now and then. That's your maintenance. And it's a lot quieter than a gas mower, which is my favorite thing about it.

I donβt spill gas, never got oily hands, never had to winterize my mower.π 25 years later, hums like a sewing machine. And I sleep better at night knowing I had no lithium Ion batteries on a mower waiting to burn the house down. When I hauled hazmat waste, the spookiest thing was hauling Lithium Ion. duckduckgo.com/?q=lawn+mower+lithium+battery+fire&t=iphone&ia=webGlad you guys are happy with them, just not my cup of tea.π

Man killed by battery operated robot mower details to follow. That's what he gets for mowing robots. Should've stuck to the grass.

Should've stuck to the gas powered lawn equipment. When the Terminator shows up mark my words it will all be traced back to the robot mower with the Li batteries.

Looks like it's a good thing I got my mowing done. We're about to enter the heat-showers-every-afternoon phase of summer in Memphis.
Oh, and mole activity has dropped off to nothing.
I got my yard mowed yesterday after it got a foot tall again. Luckily I didn't have a homeowners association to bother me about it. π€£ Another relatively cool and beautiful day here in NE Texas.

Frequently get stopped at RR crossings by 125-car trains coming out of WY with EV and E-mower fuel.

lithium is nasty stuff, basically a salt found in areas that don't have enough water to process it. They have found huge deposits of Lithium in this area, dissolved in underground saline. They can get it from depleted oil wells I believe and they are drilling some new wells. The land men are all over buying mineral rights. We have plenty of water but I hope they process it somewhere else. We have clean water and we want it to stay that way.

And yet lithium batteries are everywhere and have been for many years. It's like airplanes, themselves. You never hear about all the ones that don't crash.
Now, lithium certainly has its problems as a material. Better battery technologies are not so far away. When they get here, I'll welcome them.

Sitting in the docβs waiting room to get my MRI results and discuss where we go from here. Let us hope the direction is the right one and the journey brief. Appreciate the thought, John, but it seems the direction is unknown. MRI showed no cyst, no fracture, no bone spurs, no loose bodies, and no tendon, ligament, or cartilage damage. No carpal tunnel issues. They don't know what it is. The options are another cortisone shot, get it scoped, or nothing. For now, I'm going with nothing.
He did say my MRI produced a very clear image, so I guess I did my job well, holding my wrist still with my arm wreched in an unnatural position and thoroughly numb for 20 minutes. I think I might need an MRI on that shoulder now, though.

Nothing on the scan is still good news.

Been a rainy day here in the swamp or was it just an excuse for another extended nap. No power losses today so no need for Bluetti back up system all it had to do was sit there and look expensive with its lithium battery's ready to explode. Hang in there Urb they will fix you after you have every test ever known to man kind each more expensive than the last maybe even proton imaging if they even offer that there. Maybe some ice water plunges those are fun to watch.

Maricopa county announced today that if you bring your gas powered mower in, the taxpayer will give you $200 to buy an electric mower.
I thought it would be a good idea to go get a broken one from Goodwill and cash in on the back of my fellow taxpayer.
But the refund comes in the way of a voucher for an electric mower.π

I heard from the mechanic resurrecting my DR Field Mower. $650. Certainly less that a replacement ($6,000). The 15 hp Kawasaki V-twin cuts about anything growing in the yard and field. Self propelled, walk behind. The only problem is the differential lock cannot go back to floating the axles. So, sharp turns are out. Makes it a little difficult but I can manage. The estimate to rebuild the differential is $500 and not worth it. I can manage. With all the rain, the yard is overgrown. Lots of interesting "volunteers" have come up and I aim to keep some of them, particularly the Black Locust, Aspens, Cottonwoods, yarrow, flowering ground Cherry, Purslane, Water Hemlock, and others I cannot remember the names of. Jeez, my memory is failing. Anyway, onwards!

Louisiana grass puts my 24 horse Kawasaki hard! I have the same engine. It only strains a little, but you can tell it's using all 24 horses. I have a 6hp Honda for trimming where the 54 inch lawn tractor won't reach and I admit it's pretty amazing.

Made it out to the garden to inspect how it held up front yesterday's storms. The ground around the boxes is soft and saturated, but the interior of the boxes are fine. A few pepper plants needed additional staking. I picked more cucumbers for pickles, Hungarian peppers to freeze for goulash and Japanese eggplants and zucchini for grilling. In the next couple days, I'll have a couple of the Italian eggplants ready for Eggplant Parmesan. I won't have to water the boxes for a couple days.

We've has rain off and on for a few days. Not a lot in total. It's cooled things off with days in the 80s and nights in the 60s. Pretty nice for this time of year in Texas.
