For quite awhile the contractors have been running fiber cable on the main streets around my community.
Now, all the homes in my neighborhood have the flags marking the underground utilities, so it looks to be coming soon. People seem to complain about Cox cable a lot, but I have no criticism as it is.
Hoping I can get by without a new router and modem upgrade.

Nothing from the garden today. Maybe tomorrow. I did cut up a week's collection of banana, Hungarian and Romanian peppers for the freezer.

Cool weather has arrived! It’s barely 80 and I’m about to go out and mow. Sure has for a few more days here. Right now it's 58° and tonight's low temperature will be in the lower 40°s. May hafta turn on the heat before bedtime.

A week from Monday the forecast says it will be under 3 digits for the high… So far 100 days consecutively over °100.

Anyone get in touch with ED? With our golden lab mix that we received as a rescue dog, my wife took her out to a 10X 12 bare earth area behind the shed to do her doooty. That was the only place that dog ever went, and it made cleanup a breeze. Even when I walked her she would wait until we got home and race to her corner. That was one smart dog in so many ways, never needed voice commands, I swear she took her prompts simply from our facial expressions. She was top o the heap in our critter history.

Perhaps he should be contacted to make sure that he's okay. As for today, he is probably engrossed in his beloved Buffalo Bills game. They are playing the Arizona Cardinals at home. Bad officiating right off the bat, it went in the Cardinals way of who I follow, but a bad call is a bad call. The Bills look pretty good, I expect them to pluck some feathers from the bird today.

Anyone get in touch with ED? I don't like to do yard work on Sunday. Wife didn't feel well enough to go to church so I went back to sleep. When I got up she wanted me to mow and she wanted to weed eat. I fired up the mower and mowed a big patch so I could lay in the sun without getting blasted by grass and turned her loose after telling her to please not run over anything. I complain about her leaving obstacles in the yard that make the mowing a bigger chore. About 20 minutes later she comes in the back yard to tell me she ran over the hose that was right where she left it. I cut the hose off the deck and she said "can I finish now". I engaged the blades and the engine died. I don't fix lawnmowers on Sunday. Since I drove it off into the pond I really couldn't say too much. It's just that when I caution her she always rolls her eyes.

My wife keeps bringing ornamental fixtures and doodads for the yard, makes it a pain with a corded leafblower, it hangs up on all of that stuff, and ends up breaking some of the ornamental stuff.
And… it lengthens the time to get the job done.
Ready to let her take over the yard duties.

Today was a very unpleasant, cold and windy day. I smoked Country Squire's "Dark Holler" in a Brebbia Sun (301) pipe. It was fantastic! What a delicious smoke! This was the first time that I used the Swirl Method to pack my pipe. It is even better than the Zarnicky Method and is well worth checking out. I also used a Vauen 9mm charcoal filter and an Altinay Bowl Filter. Here is a photo of the pipe.

I am going to outsource yard work pretty soon.

Contrary to popular opinion, “cut the grass” in French is not, “ Mau de Laun”. It’s, “coup de grâce.

On this day in 1776, the Continental Congress formally declared the new nation to be the "United States of America," replacing the previously used term "United Colonies." We had a good run.

Had to go to the doctor this morning and he's the second doctor to say absolutely no cancer. Check again in a year! 😁👍😮 Another Chamber of Commerce Day here in NE Texas today. Had a nice 100 mile drive through the trees, fields, lakes and rolling hills. Which is probably why they are building more RV parks here. A new one is going in a quarter mile up the road.
