 Watching PT-109 right now, gotta love those plywood boats. You might also enjoy John Ford's movie "They Were Expendable". everything one needs to know about those boats. I watch it every other year on Memorial Day. The movie is set in the Philippines in 1941 and is largely about our troops left behind and unsupported. I have an uncle, USAAF, who is still over there someplace. He died in one of the POW camps. I never knew him but my uncles and mother told me a lot about him. That stinks…. God Bless your uncle and the rest of the family, it must have been heartbreaking when they lost all hope of seeing him. |

Uncle Austin was the oldest of the kids and the closest to him. He died shortly after receiving the letter from The War Department. |

I have a great idea. How about we try not to not to have any more wars. Russia has lost almost 800k soldiers. That should make everyone stop and think. Of course, the people who start the wars aren't the ones that die.

If you have to go to war, you have to go to war...quite often we go to war without needing to do so.
Tough diplomacy, and strangling evil governments financially works a lot better than recently retired generals going to work for Defense companies while they keep another foot in Washington.
If politicians heeded Ike's warning, we would be better off.

Wars by law should be fought by men 40 and older, then we would have no wars, I fought at 17,,easy to throw young men into cannon fodder. I Garronte!

Just watched "Predestination" on Netflix. The ending is insane. You can see it coming but still not believe it. 7.5/10
