I'm listening to the just-discovered-by-me Sara Gazarek. She's a jazz singer. Dear heavens, what a delicious voice. I recommend the albums Return to You and Blossom and Bee.

Blossom Dearie, Live at Ronnie Scott's. People have a tendency to underrate her because her voice was so girlish, but Blossom (that's her real name, btw) could flat play some piano, as no less than Bill Evans attested, and her singing technique was no mindless, cutesy affair, either.

"surrounded by strangers that I thought were my friends" Wisdom spoken by someone many moons ago as he travelled the stairway to success....he figured out what so many other musicians did not. |

On/off/finally done all day. On vinyl, JS Bach Well Tempered Clavier, RCA Victor, Wanda Landowska, Harpschicord. So much more "real" on vinyl vs re-done didgital, especially if doing chamber music

I can't see myself doing the rapids again at 73, no matter how much I loved it. At 78, you'd be taking a big chance 9f killing him. Maybe an inner tube float down the Guadalupe. |
