Brits playing American Bluegrass music. They are pretty good! Well, bluegrass had it's roots in the western England/Ireland/Scot music of the people who settled in Appalachia.

I like to think of a war pig being like a war horse, only shorter.

OK, Lizard Man. You have proven to me that you might actually enjoy music with these last two posts--especially this one. I generally steer clear of all popular culture--TV, movies, novels..... If it's not at least 100 years old, I am usually not interested. But she does a GREAT job of covering a very old tune. I spent some time listening to her before posting this. Impressive. And a graduate of Berklee, no less. Thanks for posting this....

Just to add another dimension to this. Tons of folks have covered this tune, and most of the YouTubers say (at least those who do not think it is an Emmylou Harris or a Johnny Cash tune) that it dates to the early 19th century. I think it is actually far older than that. Some folks point to an old German song "Ich bin ein Gast auf Erden" written in the mid 17th century as a source--and this song based on the book of Psalms--39:12, and 119:19. I think this version I will attach is pretty good. Ger O'Donnell (playing the octave mandolin here) lives in Ireland and often hosts American musicians--in this case Brandon Lee Adams (guitar) and Johnny Staats (mandolin). Johnny Staats (in addition to being an epic mandolin player) is a UPS driver. I bet he would deliver your new mandolin with great care.

Paula Cole has sung with Peter Gabreil and mostly goes unnoticed in a busy world hanging out in Maine. Your welcome William.

Funny. The wife is laughing her arse off. Created by AI but still funny. Great advice too.

That's a lot closer to how I've heard it in the past and a very good version too.

Yeah, I listened to that and I really don't like it. Some of her stuff I really like, but a lot leaves me cold. That came up in my search and I saw the song I posted which is one I really like.

I like most of Tiger Lily, and I have The Trinity Sessions because of the sound quality more than the music. My favorite song of hers is "I Know How to Do It" from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recording.

Her voice and Margot Timmons' are rather similar.

No, you are right. 10k Maniacs did a similar album and I have it, but I don't remember the name. It was a Stereophile limited release. Recorded same as the TS, but in a small club as I think of it. I haven't played it in 25 years or more. I'm pretty sure it was a CD and most of my CDs are still packed somewheres . I have about 50 out of over 300. Backs been killing me and I'm too behind on projects to get in the attic and start searching through boxes. My advice to everyone is to not buy stuff. Even nice stuff. Things own you at some point.

Natalie loves kids. She's an activist for kids. She works 3 days a week with Head Start and she says she cries every Wednesday on her way home thinking about what will become of them in this society that doesn't care. She had one song about the sorrow and regret after an abortion. This isn't it but it's close.

I've forgotten how much I used to like her music. I like a LOT of women singers. I like women in general.😁
Here's another of my favorite women.
