"although it does attract the individualistic and the eccentric." I can accept that description.
Cillian Murphy certainly did a great job of looking natural smoking the pipe.

The author Liam speaks in the past tense: “ There was an element of gravitas about a pipe smoker. It lent an air of intellectual sophistication to their image, as if they had cogitated on whatever problem was in the air and after putting down the pipe had, like Sherlock Holmes, come up with the perfect solution.”
I would say that aptly describes us.
Overall, I enjoyed the article.

As a 5 yr old my Father had a local carpenter build us a house, big man, nickednamed Coon, wore bib overalls, smoked a pipe while working, he would put it in his bib pocket when he needed 2 hands, I watched fascinated thinking his overalls would catch on fire, Dad told me not to bother him, Coon said that boy can’t bother me, his wife would bring him lunch as my Mom worked in our business, she adopted me and brought me cake every day. Loved the smell of the pipe wished I knew what it was. Old memories!

There is a story of a gent that left his pipe in his pocket, hung up his jacket and went back onto the production floor in England many moons ago. He about burned the whole village down, so you were a forward thinking person, Brad.
