The three hour bowl....Like Gilligan, I often set sail for a three hour tour,
Not intentionally but that is the way it goes...set it down with relights. Some of my best smokes happen this way. Less than that length of trip can lead to a shipwreck...on a dark stormy Nightcap run, I ended up on the rocks...in preparation I did not eat anything because I was afraid of getting seasick...I did not fare well.

I’ve been smoking some whole leaf ripe flue cured Virginia that I initially intended to just try to see what it’s like so I could plan what if anything I was going to do with it. Naturally being uncased there’s some harshness, but I am loving it. Really great Virginia. I’m on my fourth bowl of it, in a cob.

Good Morning! It's 34° here with a clear sky and bright moonlight. This afternoon I have to make some aggravating admin phone calls and then do some postcard work. Starting off the smoking day with a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Amorelli smooth bent Three Star and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's still 34° here with a clear sky at dawn. Working on a bowl of Limerick Flake in the Amorelli while slowly sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

Finishing up a bowl of Wessex Brown VA Flake in the Amorelli before heading back to the house. I have to put my monthly tobacco order together and will be doing some shopping at the usual retailers. Enjoy your pipes, gentlemen!

Good Monday morning. High clouds, bright and cool today. You can tell spring is coming by that ever brightening sun angle.
Smoking a bowl of GH Scotch mixture in an Old England rusticated straight billiard. I believe this is a Sasieni second brand. In any event it’s a fine smoking pipe imperfections and all. Hope you all have a good start to the week!

Hope you all have a good start to the week! Years ago various pipe makers would make pipes exclusively for The Tinder Box. I found this pipe (literally) in a basket--with a basket pipe price. It has a tiny pin prick size defect in the stem. It is marked "IVORY /London Made/By Sasieni" on one side, with a shape number (78) on the other side. As I remember, it cost slightly more than the 4 oz. of bulk tobacco I bought that day. Great little pipe for a quick smoke. Probably the best bargain pipe I ever snagged.

Back in the day, Frank, a wonderful ole gent who ran the counter at my local Tinder Box, tried his best to sell me a pipe from the two trays of Sisieni Ivory pipes he had just got in that morning...thirty-five bucks I think they were, and I passed...what a dope!!!

Typical Monday, far too busy to get in many pipes this afternoon, but I’m squeezing in a bowl of St. Bernard in an old TV churchwarden.

That’s a great looking pipe for a “basket” pipe. I love finds like that, and don’t mind slight imperfections at all as long as the pipe smokes great!

Happy Monday to those affected! Having a bowl of Presbyterian Melange in the Kaywoodie Flame Grain... The shape os 86B by the stamping, but it looks like an apple to me. So, in going with that theory, tis an apple a day what keeps the doctor away... I shoulda remembered that before I wound up at the doctors today... Note to self, increase the apple uptake... A bottle of water on the side...
