Good morning all, I’m smoking a bowl of GH Squadron Leader in a Savinelli billiard. It’s a cool 35 degrees here by the bay but the wind whipping off the water makes it feel a lot colder. The pups are both fed and walked, so we’re all settling in to some quiet downtime. Enjoy your day! That is one of my favorite English blends It is a favorite of mine too, seems to have such a perfect balance for my taste. So much so that I just packed another bowl!

I have a 10 year old tin of Squadron Leader that I bought because of the beautiful tin art. Always intended to smoke it, but I haven't done it yet. I hope it doesn't go bad.

I ought to remedy that. I also bought some bulk Father Dempsey some time ago. Enjoyed it then from what I remember. thanks for the suggestions!

Starting in on a bowl of Samuel Gawith Navy Flake in a Dunhill poker. Only poker I own, tried it but not a favorite shape. Smokes well enough though.

No pipe tonight. Heart is doing the watusi. Extra beats, irregular beats, feels like it is twisting and turning. Oh well. Maybe this weekend I will get one in.

That stinks… maybe you should listen to your heart. Get in and have a cardiologist check it out. I had a stent put in last November. I was diagnosed with prior heart attack or attacks. 90% block in left anterior descending artery. Electrical block due to damage from attack. I had 16 tests, consults and procedures and the surgery last year. It’s all been checked out to the extreme. My mother mentioned to me after the stent procedure that her dad had three brothers who all died in their 60’s from heart attacks. Her dad lived to be 101. I always assumed I had those genes in my makeup. I have always been fit, not too overweight, never smoked and don’t eat a shitty diet. Apparently I have heart traits in common with the great uncles. Luck of the draw. Technology has advanced dramatically though, so my outlook should be a lot better.

You certainly have given it due diligence. I had no choice. I was suffering from constant fatigue, dizziness and blacking out. The surgeon who did the stent said I had days, maybe a few months until a “widow maker” heart attack. Something, or “someone”, drove me to stay on this. I pushed for the earliest date for every test, procedure and consult. Got it done just in time.
