In South Acadiana we had hard freezes, they had planted my cane in November, when the freeze came it was barely a stubble, now it’s about 5 inches tall and yellow, should be green. This morning 2 big tractors with Bushhoggs are cutting the stubble and Viola green stubble underneath, seems like we survived, might have a cane check this year. The drought last year devastated the crawfish ponds, hardly no crawfish, govt helps the farmers but not the fishermen that’s fucked up. I Garronte!

I just heard that there is government assistance for the crawfish farms. Don't know about the actual fish. Fishing has always been a crap shoot. I have spent a week without a nibble. Then pulled in full nets for 3 days in a row. This was from a small boat. The big boats have big problems.
