Good afternoon folks. I’m smoking a bowl of C&D Carolina red flake in a Peterson army bulldog shape A1. I like this little pipe and need to smoke it more often.
The rain and wind are cranking up here, and the dogs aren’t even interested in going out but prefer lounging in the warm dry house. I can’t blame them.

Today I have been smoking some whole Virginia leaf that I got and pressed into plugs, then cut flakes off of. Really nice straight Virginia. I’ve been smoking in both a cob and a TV churchwarden.

After a nice walk along the shore with the pups I’m smoking a bowl of Dark Birdseye in my clay pipe.
There’s a shoal with a lighthouse just offshore of here named the Miah Maull; and the walk tonight brought the story of that name to mind. I guess anywhere near water has its share of morbid stories, but the one about Nehemiah Maull is a favorite of mine.
Nehemiah was an 18th century ship’s pilot on the Delaware Bay, and as such he knew these waters intimately. He was made aware of an inheritance back in England, but to claim it needed to travel back to London. So in 1780 he booked transit on a ship headed out from Philadelphia to London, dreaming of his claim for money and financial security.
But the ship’s captain didn’t know the Delaware Bay as well as old Nehemiah, and in rough weather the ship hit the Miah Maull shoal and foundered losing all on board. I often imagine those last moments, as ‘Miah must have been frantically warning the arrogant captain of his impending doom, and the captain stubbornly driving the craft to its ruin.
Nehemiah is memorialized in having the treacherous shoal named after him, but nowadays it is known chiefly as a good place to fish.
Thanks for indulging me in my story telling, now back to my pipe.

Good Morning! It's 40°, damp, cloudy, and everything is wet from overnight rain here. I have to take my wife to a medical appointment early this afternoon and, after coming back home, it'll be time for a nap. Starting off the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Freestyle smooth bent pot and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's still 40° and cloudy here. I've been up since 4:00 and I hope to get in a nap before taking my wife to her appointment. Just lit up a bowl of Scottish Flake in the BBB Freestyle pot while sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

Just lit up a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the BBB Freestyle while slowly sipping my coffee and watching a streaming video on BritBox. I'll finish this pipe and then head back to the house. Enjoy the day, my friends!

Good morning, weather is steadily improving as that coastal low moves north. Saw a good number of bald eagles along our dog walk this morning. They are plentiful around here but not usually so active, probably tied to the coming spring and keeping the family fed.
Lighting up a bowl of Spilman Mixture in a Peterson Zulu. Hope you all have a good day!

Mornin' Patchers! Earlier, I had some 5 Brothers in an MM Country Gent with my coffee. Now, I'm finishing up some 2012 Charles Fairmorn Lancer's Slices in a Radice Rhodesian just before going in to work.
