BTW, several of the big online tobacconists usually have a sale on that day and keep your eyes peeled for sales from pipe makers and local shops as well.

I've been participating with the NJ Fellowship of Pipe Smokers, which has been in existence for 7 or 8 years. They organize a micro-mini-show for IPSD and have been meeting at JR's Whippany. This year, the New York PC had a scheduling conflict with their usual spots in Manhattan, so they elected to go to JR/Whippany for IPSD, even though it's a bit of a haul for the city folk.
'drew'n I, and maybe Sam will be pooling up in the afternoon to join the groups. JR already had a nice setup, with food and drink in an indoor setting for us smokers. They recently remodeled a goodly bit to increase the lounge area, so now we won't have to fight for space with the 'gar puffers. A good time should be had.

Already have my basket filled and finger hovering over the button. LOL  I'm picking up some War Horse, Presbyterian Match, an estate pipe if it's still in stock and tons of pipe cleaners ... free goodies bag too, I hope! |

I will be celebrating IPSD Thursday to Sunday with the ol' gang at the 2016 Gateway Pipe show in Suburban St. Louis. This is a new start for this show under new management and new smaller but smoke friendly location and hotel. I hope it works out.  |

This will be our first IPSD at JR Cigar, although several members as well as many from other area clubs head there as a night cap after each NY (Newark) Pipe Show in March and have been for the last 8 or 9 years. I was at JR last weekend and they did a wonderful job on the renovation. I hope for a spirit of unity, as the day represents, for all us pipers who show up and share the space! |

Maybe some would like to join in chat that day so they could share a "Real Time" bowl with the members in here. We seem to do that every night but it could be a fun all day event to pop in and out of.

Just got back from JR Cigars in Statesville NC where several of us meet up. Planning on doing it again next Saturday to celebrate IPSD. Anyone in the area, we will meet at 1PM and all are welcome! Each of us is planning to bring some of our favorite tobaccos and have a good time.

OK, so I'll be at JR Whippany on Saturday, representing Standard Tobacco. We'll have a set of tins, one of each of our 5 blends, up for raffle to benefit the club. Question:What time will folks be getting there? My understanding is that the show starts at 6 for the NJ Fellowship of Pipe Smokers. -Dan |
