My divorce lawyer was reccomended to me by a friend. No problems! 200 bucks. No kids and I let her have everything she wanted even though the judge didn't like it. So, completely different from you. All my lawyers have come from word of mouth referrals. Now my friend has spent 60k on 2 divorces, plus 150k out of his 401k. The lawyers have obviously done a lot to jack up the costs. Texas is a no-fault divorce state. You didn't actually need a lawyer when I got divorced. Just 45 bucks to file. My friends wives were out to take him for everything they could. The first one left him 80k in debt after 6 months of marriage, and her daddy was a judge. Second wife left him after he put her 3 kids (not his) through college. I would say that women suck in general, but I also worked with a psychopath that drove his wife crazy, gaslighting her to make her look bad so he could get the girls who I think he was molesting. Then he married a Thai whore that would help him with the girls. I'm just so glad that my first wife was a decent person and my current wife is my soul mate. I feel blessed to get a keeper on the first round. Not bragging, I had several fellow employees that worked crazy hours to make the family happy, end up in a divorce and the payout was based on all the voluntary crazy hours they worked to make a better life for the family. The judge based alimony/ child support on the crazy hours not a 40 hour week. Welcome to Beenie Weenie's Ramen, and a house with 5 roommates. My 4 brothers all experienced divorce... In my case, blessed to have a wife that put up with my silly ways all these years. You have played your cards right, Josh...best wishes going forward.

I reckon I was lucky in my divorce, mine ran off with a so called friend of mine and when I finally got tired of her jumping back and fourth between me and him I left for Texas. Then she writes me, you remember letters right? (well before computers) to please come back, so I did. Then she filed for divorce on the grounds of desertion, LOL! I did nothing and didn't cost me a dime besides child support. I would have loved to have custody of my daughter but, I would have been worse for her then her mother. Daughter at 46 now and we Skype every Sunday and she still loves her Dad. Wish you the best sir, it sounds like you have it all together making your children first in your life.
