LBF in the Paul's Cayuga. I was gonna have some Lagonda, but then I remembered it doesn't love to light, which isn't ideal for this wind:

2016 C&D Crooked Lane in my Eltang bamboo blasted Dublin. Really nice ring grain on that one. (No, I don't mean the bamboo.)

Smoking some more 10 Y/O Chenets Cake...even sipping slowly, this one really packs a punch.

Between that ring grain and my love for Tom's bamboo pipes, it was love at first sight. I had a decent auction win on this, but was a bit lucky in that I almost didn’t win it. There was only a $2 buffer between my max bid and what I was run up to. I’m really glad someone didn’t click one more time…

He obviously did not have a glass of scotch in one hand, and a mouse in the other.

Set a top dollar price, and use a sniping tool, and call it good. It has been years since I bought a pipe by Ebay, don't know if sniping is still allowed.I became disenchanted with Ebay as a seller. My wife would put stuff on and we had dishonest buyers (usually newer bidders), one I am guessing she had remorse at bidding up so high that she took a razor to the purse and claimed it was shipped as damaged. Even though we had very clear pictures showing what the condition as posted, Ebay backed the liar. After three or four instances, it was adios!

I have a very small set of dealers who I trust and follow. It helps also that medium to high grade pipes tend to be better taken care of by previous custodians. My strategy is to post my best and final number as close to ending time as possible, walk away, and check back later. Also, bidding around the time of major holidays or major pipe shows can result in less competition and good deals.

Popped open a 2023 tin of C&D From Beyond, the latest release with the Turkish Latakia. Will have to compare with the open 2021 but right out of the gate it’s much better latakia. The first year release of it the Latakia is heavy and sooty and poor quality, in my opinion. Smoking the 2023 release in a Viking Classic bent Dublin.
Night before I smoked 2006 McClelland Blakeney’s Best guillotine-sliced Acadian Ribbon in a Kaywoodie Saxon sandblasted bent billiard.

Good Sunday Morning! It's already 67° here with a cloudy sky, so both workshop doors are open. Our daughter dropped off a large box for my wife yesterday, an unassembled rectangular outdoor planter with a stand. That's this afternoon's project when I get back from the supermarket. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of Scottish Flake for a change in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. Have a good one everybody!

Good Sunday morning to all of the Patch, you're up late Urb! The Sunday Savinelli 626 Roma is getting fired up with the last of the St. James Plug, fantastic plug VaPer, which I will be adding much more to the cellar. Hope you all have a great day ahead!

Just lit up a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall Dublin while slowly sipping my coffee and watching an episode of Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett on BritBox.

Good Morning Again! It's still 67° with a cloudy sky and the day's high temperature will be in the low 80°s and humid. The a/c will be running early to keep the house cool, me thinks. Finishing up this bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall Dublin and next up will be some Fillmore. Time to sip some more coffee and check the headline news.
