This early research on pipe tobacco and nicotine chemical changes based on ignition source is very interesting. Lighting your bowl with cedar can reduce nicotine absorption, while ordinary wooden kitchen matches can increase nicotine uptake by up to 4mg.

Oh wow I didn’t realize it was an April Fool’s until I read further, I was a week behind the pipe blog and posted as I was reading it. April fooled me. I posted that on my way to get some food, came back and started finishing reading it before I realized. Way to go, Chuck!
