I had a headache for 3 days in the middle of the week, so I can appreciate your feeling of relief. What's up in Ireland, today (besides you)? Hey Urb, only getting back to you, actually my brother, his wife and son, are visiting from Liverpool this weekend, we're meeting up later tonight. Nice. Hope you have a nice visit with the fam.

I’m loading a bowl of a Hungarian market tobacco, Róna Black and Gold Special, that a friend sent me from Hungary. I really enjoy trying generally unobtainable blends, whether I like them or not 😃. Don’t know what to think of this one yet.

Good Evening! It's 80° out here on the deck with a light breeze, large clouds, and sunshine. I made a supermarket run earlier and now I'm relaxing with a bowl of FVF in the Stanwell Silver Mount blasted billiard and there's a glass of cold water on the side. Have a great Saturday night everybody!

Went out for dinner with Sis and BIL, and we came back here to socialize on the deck. Haunted Bookshop in the Saturday cob and Friar's Bayou in the meerschaum while they we here. They've gone and I'm on the front porch with some McConnell Scottish Cake in an Ashton Old Church Canadian and refreshments.

Good Sunday Morning! It's 61° with a hazy sky here at first light. I don't have anything planned for this afternoon, so maybe I'll work on my postcard blog. Starting off with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Amorelli smooth bent Three Star and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's 60° with a hazy sky and sunshine streaming through the trees here in our neighborhood. Just lit up a bowl of Fillmore in the Amorelli while slowly sipping my coffee. Time to check out some more headline news.

Happy Sunday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee on the back porch. It's 66 and sunny with a breeze off the lake. Today, we finish the gravel firepit area at my son's. Dinner will follow there.

It's a cool 74° out here on the deck with a mostly cloudy sky and bright sunshine. The neighborhood is quiet for once with no lawnmower or other machine noises, just the calling of our resident birds. Nice. Smoking a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Stanwell Silver Mount blasted billiard with some leftover coffee on the side.

I’m continuing to smoke the Ròna Black and Gold Special I got from Hungary. Right now in a BC calabash.
This has turned out to be a really interesting tobacco. First off, it is the strongest tobacco I’ve ever smoked that said it was a cavendish tobacco. Although not listed anywhere, I’m pretty sure it has a fair portion of Rustica in it, much in the vein of the older Eastern European tobaccos and cigarettes. Also in addition to the obvious Virginia, I keep getting a touch of burley which is also not listed. One of the ingredients listed is “cavendish” and that doesn’t tell you what it actually is, so who knows. It’s fairly heavily flavored and pretty unique, but has some similarities to Dragon Flake in the flavorings, at least that’s the closest I can think of. Not in the tobacco though of course. It’s been really fun to smoke.

We've got a steady wind at about 18mph out of the SSW, which on my patio makes it a day for deep-bowled pipes. I'm having some Inns of Court in the Ashton brandy:

2021 Best Brown Flake #2 in a Tracy Mincer The Doodler with the original twin-bore stem. Bought it from Tim West, broke the stem right out of the box. Tim polished it and put a new Delrin tenon in it for me last summer.

Had a few bowls after we finished working and dinner. The usual in the barrel-shaped meerschaum and a basket billiard that was made in London. Now, I'm smoking some Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob.
