“ I’ve worked out of a home office since 1998 and can smoke in the house.” A true pioneer in the trend! I tried that out with my boss… I need a Star Trek type unit to send the product to other regions. At the time, it was called telecommuting. I was a Field Applications Engineer in Sales. I flew to see customers half the time and the other half was spent working in my home office.

That is awesome.
If there is anything good that came from covid, is that it is not necessary to travel to an office when your duties can be executed online. The expense associated with offices, the travel and expense for employees, wasted time and drama at water cooler talk, etc… And with the technology it is not hard for mangement to figure out who is productive and who is not.
I call on several homes where the patient can live a productive life from home, and some places where an employee can tend to their loved ones while working from home.
When you are in the service industry though, get your butt out there!😉😎

Just observing responses in other threads, it seems as though there are quite a few people who have dozens upon dozens of pipes, yet only use a fraction. I have just five pipes right now. I use those same five pipes weekly. This set up works fine...how about you? I have fourteen pipes, six of which I rotate on a regular basis. The other eight are awaiting some degree of repair.

Most of my other pipes seem to do something like burn more evenly or retain flavor or smoke cooler etc. better than the others; the system pipe doesn't really stand out and hasn't proven for me as above average. I've read positive reviews for it around the web so I'm guessing that it's a user problem.

A hundred bowls in you will get a cool, dry and flavorful smoke that can exceed all expectations. On a good day with the right blend, my Deluxe System pipes will give me a better smoke than any Radice or Savinelli or Dunhill can deliver. It's not every bowl, or even necessarily 1 out of ten that reaches that, but the other smokes are as good as any other pipe. This is my opinion from my experience. YMMV.

Most of my Peterson’s are estate pipes, my three system pipes are and smoke very good.

Most of my Peterson’s are estate pipes, my three system pipes are and smoke very good. My best smoking pipe is a Pete Special Edition that had cake built in the bowl so thick you couldn't fit a pencil eracer in it. The shank was also clogged so it would barely draw. Took a couple of days work but it was well worth it.

A little (or in your case a lot) of TLC can be rewarding.

Seems like a solution in search of a problem. As long as I control my cadence and have a few pipe cleaners handy I get a great dry smoke (he said as his pipe started to gurgle and his pipe cleaners were in the next room).

The thing I noticed about the Peterson I have is that while it does give a cool smoke, once I empty out the ashes, it sure does stink when the saliva drips into the now empty bowl. And one really has to clean out the well from time to time, too.

Zarnicky having 31 pipes including cobs and one on way. I smoking each one in rotation and different tobacco for each one. I also having 5 ukuleles. One is banjo uke (banjolele) and one is U-bass. Zarnicky playing them all. Not at same time. I having 36 cellared tobacco jars. (Math not Zarnicky's strong point.) Zarnicky desigining jar lables. Here is photo of part of Zarnicky cellar.

You just take the pipe cleaner you just ran through the stem, fold it double and wipe the well. It quickly becomes a habit.

Yes. Clean the well every time. I use a Q-tip. Works well.

I have about 30 pipes, and I rotate through them all one-by-one. I smoke 3-4 bowls a day on average, so it's about a two-week rotation. I've started culling pipes in my collection that gurgle excessively or that I just don't enjoy smoking for whatever reason, and they'll get posted to an appropriate forum or Facebook or eBay sometime soon.
