It is understandable to see posters interests wane, and/or priorities of life change, but we often wonder why the above takes place. |

I reckon it's mostly because they discover the hobby, join a bunch of forums and groups, then pretty much end up sticking with just one. I'm a member of pipe magazine forum as well, and r/pipes and r/pipetobacco too, as well as a half dozen wet shaving forums. I'll be at the Vegas pipe show this year, Thursday through the weekend, already have a smoking room booked. Anyone from here going? |

Interesting. At least that’s something of an explanation, deleting his account seemed like an unnecessary step, but then if he got bad news, the forum probably wasn’t a priority concern. |

(Insert cowbell here). If it was someone from ten years ago, I've likely forgotten. Doesn't mean I haven't interacted with him at some point. I've been involved in the shaving hobby for nearly 15 years. Smoked a pipe longer than that, but didn't turn it into a "hobby" until recently. That was shortly after my brother in law took up pipe smoking as a hobby, and introduced me to the wider variety of tobaccos available. As usual, I'm more interested in hardware (pipes) than software (tobacco). eBay supplies the one, and cigarbid the other. |
